Jon,

Thanks for the follow up post.  Good assessment as far as the solution goes. 
I would reinforce what you say about applying CLP or the like to eliminate 
the squeak - it will be temporary.  Cleaning the wires and applying Teflon 
to the bushings is a much better solution.
