I have not been at all impressed with the German damper felt I get from Germany and last time I ordered from my supplier I asked them to send also some branded Yamaha strips, which are quite a bit dearer but of far better quality. A sheet of flat felt I got from them was also not satisfactory in that the felt was visibly and palpably still in layers, easy to tear apart and difficult to cut into lengths. For the flat sheets I have reverted to Laoureux felt. Whether the German felt is from VFG or Wurzen I don't know, but I can probably find out. The Japanese felt has been excellent for as long as I've been in the trade. Who makes the felt for Yamaha and Kawai I wish I knew. The mention of Tokiwa felt also interests me -- perhaps it is the same. Where can this be bought? SO far as I know there is no outlet in Europe. JD
