I have had good luck with the brass clamps and the white glue wafers. I clean both surfaces, dampen them and the wafer slightly and put the ivory on. Then the clamp - when all is tight and in place I use a heat gun to warm up the brass. More than likely there are not wafers on the other ivories if you are just repairing one or so. There may be a problem with the thickness of the wafer giving a new key thickness. What glue system do you use to re-attach ivory ( heads, usually ) I found out the hard way decades ago that water based glue does not work with the ivory, as it causes it to curl. What is the most effective way to get them to stay put, especially when on site with only a few to fix . . ??? Inquiring minds want to know . .
