hmm...maybe I'm thinking about this inside out... Instead of blaming the graphite outright, the graphite or other goop was most likely applied to try and address a sluggish problem, meaning that the problem preceded the goop. The problem, too much felt in the first place, still remains. Without reaming/repinning, it will remain, goop or no goop. So that leaves 2 questions: Was the graphite application detrimental, or non-detrimental (but not of much long term use)? seems hard to tell Was the graphite (or other goop) implicated unfairly?
