I found a set of car keys. When I showed them to the owner, she owner told me that they had been there 17 years. They had just gotten a new car, the toddler was playing with the keys--which were suddenly lost. They looked everywhere--even took apart the duct work in the house--and, of course, they never found the keys. The best part of the story for me, was that the owner had kept eying me suspiciously (I was young, female and charged more than they had ever paid) and talked about how wonderful their previous tuner was. Apparently he either never investigated or heard the jingling in the treble of the grand piano. They thought I was OK after that...
