Hi Zoe I think ideally the best situation is attending full time at one of the several fine Piano Technology Institutes coupled a mentoring relationship with an experienced technician. As this was not possible for me I chose to enroll in the Randy Potter program and I reinforce my learning by attending as many as possible of the national and regional conventions, seminars, and chapter meetings available to me. Soaking up some of the incredible knowledge represented on this listed is my day-to-day sustenance. I read the PTG Journal from cover to cover as soon as it arrives and retain it as a ready resource.I'm also finding that as the pianos I service increase in quantity and variety, so does my confidence, understanding and quality of tuning.
