I've done both: either stop by, remove the pencil, show them how to do it themselves, and charge nothing (taking 15 minutes), or making a minimum service call out of it, touching up unisons as well, if the customer wants. The funniest one was a customer who said her piano was ringing. I was about to ask about damper problems, but she said, no, it's only when she gets a call on her cell phone.
