Wim At Dad Yamaha Dealership these were known as 5 ft 7 inches. My least favorite early model. G2-Js started to sound more legitimate/real but that wasn't till the 80's. Had very thick Sitka boards. (.400 thick) Yours probably has wooden action brackets. Some better than others. Aslo near the ocean? New strings, xxx Dollars. And rusty hardware parts. I've seen Hawaiian pianos. Not pretty. $0 to 1500 Dale -----Original Message----- From: wimblees at aol.com To: Pianotech at PTG.org Sent: Sat, Jan 16, 2010 7:55 pm Subject: [pianotech] Yamaha G2 What's the size of the G2? Was this the better of Yamaha's grands, or their lower end models? This one is from '66, satin ebony, in general good conditions, except that the bass strings area little tubby, and there is some rust on the string, because it's within 100 yards of the ocean. Any idea of value? Wim -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: <http://ptg.org/pipermail/pianotech.php/attachments/20100117/1cd38003/attachment-0001.htm>
