Much thanks for the info. Will check it out. However, I'm getting a bit long in the tooth for the R&D stuff.<G> this is a situation that will need much attention and effort. :-(

Because chances are your tusch is cooked on this quest.

However, having said that, and noticing the post regarding heat, there is an infrared heat stripper which is reasonably gentle. I have seen it work and know preservation folks who use it...they prefer it to other sources of heat because it is more effective and less damaging to the underlying surfaces than hot air or electric coil heaters.
