I'll speak for me. This is just an observation, not a judgement.

Duaine, ultimately, this issue is internal to the PTG although it benefits the larger group as a whole.

From a couple of years of observation... You bought Linux because it was cheap (free?). You tout certain office software because it's free. You use an accounting program because it's free. You use a CRM program because it's free. You don't join the PTG, yet you stay on this list because it benefits you, and it's, dare I say it...? Free.

While I'm certainly one to enjoy the benefits of a good deal, I also realize the importance of a cohesive group united by a common cause. In this case, the PTG in my view, is there to promote the growth and professionalism of its members. It provides training, seminars, the Journal, history, accountability, etc. This is something that I feel is important enough to pay for it.

So if you really want to help the cause, then join us, unite with us, and fight the good fight together. Join the ranks of your fellow piano technicians and let them know that you're truly on our side. I could care less if you become an RPT. But I do care that you seem to want the benefits others derive for you, without the requisite investment from you.

Otherwise, it's merely background noise from the bleachers... We can hear it, but it ultimately has no effect on the outcome.

Happy new year! :-)

Regards,

Rob McCall
