Rick, I think you are approaching this from the wrong perspective. The mistake you made was, you didn't measure the shanks before you ordered the hammers. The mistake that Baldwin made was, they assumed that they were dealing with a current producion piano and drilled for the shanks they now use......Big oopsie IMNSHO!<G> I'd send the hammers back, after talking to the Baldwin Service Tech about the issue.
