Dampp-Chaser has been in business 60 years, so not every anecdote applies to the current product. The H-5 is always on, one side or the other. Yes, maintenance can be a problem, but my philosophy is that it's designed as a complete system, and the piano might get sold or moved to a different climate. Usually the best value to the customer is a complete system.
