Piano Wire Cannisters

I use the 1 lb coil canisters, extracting from the center of the coil.
Mapes IG wire has a few wire ties which are snipped and the coil
carefully installed in the canister and the lid secured.
Only once have I been attacked by the Revenge of the Slinky.

Before snipping, I place a small loop (1/2" or so) in the end
and a 90 degree bend down about 2", this let's me fish the
wire out of the canister. I also do this at the end of each usage.
