Weird ringing - HELP!!

Hi Julia,

Thanks for the comments.

The pedal is ok. I have wondered about the damper spring tension. How do I check their tension and know if they are with in spec? Can I massage them to increase their tension like a grand repetition spring?

Thanks,

Terry Jack

  Greetings,

Yes, perhaps the damper pedal is adjusted too tight/ no play. Also, I have had older uprughts that do not achieve quiet damping even when new damper felts replace the old ones, I would think that it could be the damper springs.

Terry, This may be just too simple, but have you checked the sustain pedal to see that it is not lifting the dampers a tad?
